  • Definitely an interesting partnership. It seems to be a solid move into the online branding of UMG. Although I am quite hesitant about the sharing of content part of the equation. See what restrictions this comes with.
  • I like its concept of instant messaging. Now it is more than a simple chat service provider.
  • Depends on how much you use IM, if you are a mass IM'er then this service will definitely benefit you, but the individual programs are still better overall.
  • There are so many chat applications these days, it actually becomes quite difficult to know which one to choose and which will be best for you. Personally I use MSN/AIM/Skype, all for different things, some are more business based than others. What meebo is trying to do is simplify everything about chat and formalize it so that it is all in one easy to use client. Lets hope Universal Music Group is onto something because this looks like a hefty investment.
  • Love the centralized platform. The ability to share and gather at the same time seems to be a great deal
  • Id think that the best web applications would be those that are both integrable with other web apps, and are user friendly. Im not sure that Meebo does that, but its almost there.
  • It works pretty well and usability is similar to desktop based messenger. The ability to connect with friends from different platforms is what i am looking for in a web messenger.
  • Being in the sports industry, we have used Meebo for interactivity between forum members and sports betters alike, and I must say that the platform while still in its infancy, is one of the best that I have used, and will continue to do so.
  • It has integrated chat services from various sources, hence becoming a central medium for our online communication. Great work.
  • I personally love gathering with people that have common interests. This is definitely a great partnership.
  • Love the centralized platform. The ability to share and gather at the same time seems to be a great deal.
  • Getting updated on the latest music albums through meebo sounds great!
  • Meebo is actually one of the web's better resources for finding music, and now that they are partnered with Uni, it will only get better.
  • I always use Meebo to look out for great music albums.Glad to have seen this news.
  • Enjoys using Meebo as the interface are really awesome and easy to use!Bet that the integration woudl attract more registrations.
  • I always love to chat in meebo rooms with people of my personality. Now we have this integration,I believe Universal music meebo rooms will definitely be flooded with users!
  • Having real-time engagements with fans will certainly boost user registrations.Fans can now gather through meebo to discuss about the upcoming event of the artiste or discuss what they can do to support them.

Meebo should implement more features that benefits UMG as well as the supporters.
  • Collaborating with meebo is good as they have made themselves widely known across web services as well as mobile devices through branding and syndication services.
With the interface similar to MIRC, i affirmed that a permanent chat room for interaction that caters to UMG will be set up.
  • Nowadays, companies are looking for chatting platforms for integration to gain popularity and attract consumers. I believe this partnership will benefit both parties.
  • Chat can be a powerful and effective form of direct communication. However, can music album really spread through chat platforms? Integrate a system for members of meebo to listen to music in the meantime might be good.
  • It is great to see companies working together to provide their users with better solutions then currently available.
  • Big fan of the mebo! Working together for the win!
  • I use mebo on my site and it rocks.
  • chat is powerful and effective... I always love to use meebo...
  • Meebo isnt really one of my favorite programs, i still prefer pidgin.
  • Meebo rocks, I love getting updates.
  • There’s a new voice out there. It blends soft, cool, jazzy overtones with a raw cutting edge reminiscent of early folk idols. Jo Potter is more than just a pretty face, she is a breath of fresh air in the stale computer effect driven haze of pop music.
Listening to her belt out her new song, “Saved”, one is transported to a sultry cocktail lounge where real musicians ply their trade for the sheer joy of making music. She is obviously devoted to her craft and her songs and she brings them home with both class and style.
If you’ve grown weary of the limousine traveling pop Diva’s who need more equipment than NASA houses for vocal assistance then you really need to hear Jo Potter. She and her music are both worthy of the highest praise because both are real. This is music.
  • Great News! i like meebo..
  • It seems to be a solid move into the online branding of UMG. Although I am quite hesitant about the sharing of content part of the equation. See what restrictions this comes with.
  • There are so many IM's to choose from these days, that having a central one that you can chat with people on all different platforms is a great idea. What makes that even better? Being able to share music with all of these people, and chat with fans of the same artists. I think it is a great partnership, and I am sure it will take right off.
  • This sounds like a good idea, but I am new to this whole social network thing. I guess I should read up on it before I decide to criticize this new addition. I will start with Meebo, and see how it goes. Does any body have a better suggestion?
