Now you can simply search through locations and find an accurate listing of all people. The one benefit of still using Twitter Local is that you can sort by distance.

The search used to be above the pictures of the people you followed. I was very hard to notice. I will second Tweetscan. (used to use terraminds, but that went down) It works better than the "replies" tab. You can find your @ name anywhere in the tweet, great if someone replies to you but say "hey @gotbob...." I would never see it in my replies tab.

Have you heard of Tweetscan.com? Searches all tweets or lets you specify a user's tweets to search - even your own, of course.

Hello I must say that the twitter search feature is not new, it's just moved back to it's original location. The text "Name or location" is new, but you could have searched twitter for name or location at least 6 months or a year ago when it was above your friends list.

Yes, using the twitter search is one of the first ways I search for local twitter users. So the value was there to find local twitters to organize a tweetup and that's what I did. We had over a 30 plus local twitter users at at meetup. See http://triangletweetup.pbwi...

Still it's good to see twitter making changes, I think a twitter is about to start making some money soon with ads on the side bar.
