They are not interested in collaborating. Outlook on the other hand... Microsoft and FB share similar interests.

Nick, great insight and great post. One of your best to date.

Re: The Social Platform Race to My Contact List

The company that manages to sync contact lists PERFECTLY.. (not you plaxo) will be top of my list. Why Facebook couldnt get together with the email providers, and provide a secure API that syncs my google / hotmail / yahoo / outlook emails together, so that they all have the right info is beyond me.

I guess someone somewhere, is trying to hold onto all of that information as they see it as theres. To be fair, its not. My friends are MY friends and not facebooks. Make it easy for me FB and I will convince everyone I know to get on it, so that we all have a decent connection.

It cant be that difficult..

Re: The Social Platform Race to My Contact List

I think the MobileMe is a brilliant move by Apple as they maintain your contact list for you and you pay them to do it.

Re: The Social Platform Race to My Contact List

Nick,

even better, use Jott to call an add stuff to your RemembertheMilk list form anywhere. It gets transcribed and added and then also right on your iPhone
