When sites like &lt;a href="http://NYTimes.com" rel="nofollow"&gt;NYTimes.com&lt;/a&gt; embrace commenting, add true blogs and generally open up to reader participation, those sites become online destinations. Social elements integrated with journalistic standards is the new model. The challenge, I think, is keeping everything at a certain level, editorially.
