I am pursuing a job in the social media marketing industry right now and I'm working on an addendum to my resume to provide links to all my relevant profiles. In this process I am really surprised at the number of sites I use without even thinking about it...I am up to a total of 11 social media sites that I access at least once a week with a total of 5 that access on a daily basis.

In the beginning, I used Facebook as my only social profile. But not everyone is on Facebook! Plus, there are other services, like LinkedIn, that are extremely useful. But then, what about your videos or pictures? With different friends and family using different services, it started becoming a difficult task to have my info shared among my close circle of influence.
That's why I decided to use my name as a an entry point. So when I give my contact info, I only use www.JosueSanchez.com (a one page static site). From there, people can go to wherever they want and there are more chances of having something in common.
Does it make sense? Is that what you were talking about, Nick?
