    Nick,
    Do you think the new version will be the next must-have social tool? I.e. i will need one to know where my friends are, to better communicate with them, etc?

    I have been waiting for the phone social networks for sometime now. Hope the new iPhone when it comes out on the 9th will be awesome.

    @Brian, while I don't think we "need" these technologies per say, I think that it will definitely be a must have for technophiles.

    I'm using brightkite already. They're really taken off in a very short amount of time:

    They have a (web based) iphone app already, and it's very usable and ties into twitter. I'm sure their native app will be ready when the app store launches, and since they already have a large network of people using it, they'll likely do very well with that.
