    Without question, one of the best case studies for how social technology can impact the world for good is www.kiva.org. A powerful mission, spectacularly executed.

    I think a lot of the social apps that have brought about change are the ones that add the right incentive.

    For example, with the Facebook app Causes, you add a badge to your profile that says look how cool I am because I associate myself with these causes.

    For a while it was the thing to support the Creative Commons cause so everyone did it.
