It has been delayed because T-Systems were bleeding in some of their businesses and had to reprioritize their business activities. Not too sure it will be rolled out anytime soon.

Re: Google Prepares the Android Market

Android is a joint venture between Google and T-Systems. It's going to kick butts when it is launched in the market.

Re: Google Prepares the Android Market

Well Craig, I absolutely agree with you.

Re: Google Prepares the Android Market

On thing is for sure...these open mobile marketplaces are going to usher in a new era of chaos in the traditional mobile content business. As much as one can argue that the existing carrier marketplaces (on-deck) are ineffective, they at least attempt to judge application quality / reliability by having employees test, validate and organize on-deck content. Remove these barriers and we will likely initially see a lot of disappointing applications as new market entrants attempt to figure mobile out.

I'm excited by the level of innovation that will be coming into the mobile market, but have a healthy fear of the inevitable transition period from traditional mobile content producers and the new school.
