The claim from Hadi Partovi of iLike is not accurate.

ReverbNation has been providing free web-based content management tools for musicians since 2006. Hundreds of thousands of Artists use our tools to deploy and manage show schedules, music players, blogs, web buzz, photos, videos, and 'fan collectors' across all social sites, blogs, and their homepages. We provide Artist's with comprehensive tracking and analytics, as well as real-time updating, all from a dashboard.

Don't get me wrong, I think that the "iLike/Ticketmaster/Garageband" company makes some great applications. But they should do a little more fact checking before making claims that are patently untrue.

As for this announcement from Google, we are as excited as you are. The concept of a universal 'friend' widget has been kicked around and even attempted in the past, with little success. No doubt, this attempt will yield better results.

Nick, I'm glad to have found your weblog & keen perspectives. Two suggestions:

- Please add a link for a feed to iGoogle home pages.
- Please know that the links on your site do not copy -- sometimes I
copy a page to share with a colleague with my added highlight emphasis
to make relevance to our project immediately obvious. Most links do copy & are live in a Word document
