Sebastien, FB and social gaming is the new in! I believe, like everything, there is moderation and a balance required. If your habits become unhealthy then the problem of addiction becomes real. I know myself, I work on a PC all day and then I can go home and sit on my home computer all evening, if I did not keep myself in check, we are at risk of not touching or smelling a human being at all. Interesting and I must add brilliant times.

Re: Gaming Is Social and Isn’t Turning Back

Gaming certainly isn't turning back from being social, but let's not forget that gaming NOT being social is a fairly recent thing.

The history of gaming has been social, if you think of games like Backgammon (at least 3000 years old) and Poker (~200 yrs old) they are profoundly social. Even early video games adhered to this (Pong anyone?).

We've had a couple decades of both social games and profoundly isolating, single-player adventures. But we are social animals and it is pretty sure what wins out in the end.

Re: Gaming Is Social and Isn’t Turning Back

Interesting! I just blogged about the fact that
"Facebook Is Just A Game". I think we'll see more and more convergence between social and gaming (and vice-versa).
